College World Series : The first game of the College World Series will feature Texas Tech against the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. Game two will have Arkansas facing Florida State beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Both games on Saturday will be shown on ESPN.

On Sunday, Vanderbilt will face Louisville at 1 p.m. on ESPN. At 6:30 p.m., Mississippi State will take on Auburn on ESPN2.

Eight teams remain vying for the College World Series trophy: Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, and Vanderbilt. The Razorbacks and Commodores are far and away the betting favorites, but anything can happen in Omaha.

There are many possible title matchups among those remaining — from SEC rivalries and a redemption tour to an iconic coach looking to end his career on a high note — but these are the ones I would most like to see because they have the greatest potential for excitement:

It’s the annual June smoke signal that informs us that after four months and thousands of innings of college baseball, the College World Series has finally arrived. As always, the field is packed with expected favorites and classic powerhouses, plus a couple of unforeseen party crashers. So what do you need to know about this year’s edition of the Omaha Eight, what did they do to earn the invite, and what might they do once they arrive at TD Ameritrade Park?
